Graduate: My name is Drue Byial and Fresh Start Services was a wonderful as well as life changing experience for me. Before working with Fresh Start Services my attitude was extremely different from what it is today. I did not aspire to do anything with my life and I found myself constantly getting into trouble. I had no concern at all for where I was headed in life.

Fresh Start Services offered me a job receiving good pay. At the start of things, the money seemed to be all I cared about, but that changed in about a day and a half. Soon after, I grew excited to get up in the morning and go to work. I became anxious to learn something new every day. The teachers there were very skilled at what they did; they also seemed to really care about their student’s progress. They constantly encouraged me to take a  portions of my money that I earned and buy my own tools with it on each pay day. Ninety percent of everything I learned was hands on. Some of the things that I learned throughout this program were how to remodel older homes, dry wall, do tile work, hang doors, do floors of all types, paint the interior as well as the exterior ofhomes, and install carpet. 

Three years down the line I printed my own business cards, and I have my own customer base. They seem to be very satisfied with the results and continue to come back for my services. They also love my affordable prices. I also work for a seventy unit apartment complex doing maintenance, and if I have any trouble with a particular job, I call my teachers at Fresh Start Services and they instruct me on how to get it done correctly through the phone or they personally come down and assist me with it their self. Before working with Fresh Start I attended job core In Savanna, Georgia and I did not learn half of what I learned with Fresh Start.

My name is Ronald Smallwood. I began working with Fresh Start Services in the summer of 2010. My friends and I were going around my neighborhood cutting grass, and one of the Instructors from Fresh Start offered to take us out around other neighborhoods with their truck. Five of us go door to door offering our services to different people in the neighborhood. Fresh Start supplies the lawn mowers and leaf blowers. We cut grass, blew the leaves off the lawn, cleaned gutters, as well as cut trees.

Last year we began working on a house in my neighborhood. I did a shingle roof, put up a wooden gate, did the pluming, and ran the electrical wires, and then I put in the drywall in the whole room, painted it, and installed some new carpet. I have to say that I really enjoy doing this type of work, and love to see the results of my labor.

Hi my name is Zozimo Juarze. I have been working with Fresh Start Services for the past four months. I really appreciate Fresh Start for giving me the opportunity to learn skills that will last me a life time. Before Fresh Start, I was doing nothing, I felt like I had no chance of ever gaining employment especially because I had not prior work experience. The Skills that I am acquiring really give me more confident about my life and it’s very good to keep myself busy.
